Trading Terms
For instance, if today I told the China supplier that I want to import a full container load (FCL), they will probably give you the following responses:-
Your supplier does not have an import permit, and you are responsible for handling the entire progress. However, you only need to find a freight forwarding agent on your own.
It means that your suppliers will handle the export procedures. Your task now is to find a freight forwarding agent or someone who can assist you with customs clearance in Malaysia and the subsequent processes.

Commonly, most of the cargo ships will be moored at the “Port Kelang”. Most of the shipping companies from China to Malaysia will also recommend doing the customs clearance at Port Kelang. In customs clearance, there are three main issues need to take consideration:-
Some items are not eligible for exclusion, so using the correct HS code is essential to avoid taxes on those items.
Certain goods require specific approvals for importation into Malaysia, notably the SIRIM or CIDB permits.
Since September 2018, most of the imported goods have at least 5% to 10% SST.
